Equestrian farm les abrons black périgord
Our horseback riding starts at the borders of the Agen region to finish in the heart of the Black Perigord in Sarlat. During our trip we will discover the bastides of Monflanquin, Monpazier and Domme which during the Middle Ages, during the 100 Years War, for which English and French fought. We will also visit the ruins of the château de Gavaudun, then Bonaguil which was the last castle built in France, and Biron, well preserved castles.
We will also visit a traditional goose and duck breeding farm, La Perruche.We will finish by visiting Sarlat, capital of the Black Perigord.
Day 1: Welcome of the riders at 6pm at Agen train station, transfer to the Platanes hotel in Villeneuve/Lot. Quick visit of the bastide of Villeneuve/Lot.

Day 2: Breakfast at 8am. Departure from the hotel at 9am. At 10am on horseback, departure. The landscape is hilly and partly wooded. We will see on the wooded hills the bastides of St Pastour and Castelnaud (13th century). Picnic in Monflanquin, then visit of this bastide. In the afternoon, horseriding in a wooded region before arriving in our Bed and Breakfast around 6pm. Before dinner we will visit the castle of Gavaudun (12th century). Night and meals in the Bed and Breakfast.

Day 3: Breakfast at 8am. Departure on horseback at 9:30am. We will mainly ride through forests. We will pass through the village of Cuzorn to reach the castle of Bonaguil. We will have picnic there before the visit. We will finish the day in the holiday village of Mélis. Meal (traditional cooking) and night in bungalows.

Day 4: Breakfast at 8:00 am. Departure at 10:00am. We will ride through a forest. We will pass through the village of Lacapelle Biron before reaching the castle of Biron. It is there that we will have a picnic before visiting the castle. In the afternoon, still riding through the forest, we will reach the bastide of Monpazier (13th century). You will be able to visit the bastide freely, before a typical Perigord meal and a night in a Bed and Breakfast.

Day 5: Breakfast at 8:30am. Departure at 10:30am. In the morning we will meet a goose and duck farmer. This is a ancient tradition. The meal will be taken at La Perruche farm. In the afternoon, we will ride through a wooded and hilly area to get to Belves (13th century). Night at the hotel.

Day 6: Breakfast at 8:00am and departure at 9:30am. Long riding morning through a wooded and hilly landscape. Picnic will be organised on the border of the river Dordogne. Then we will visit the castle of the Milandes, which has become famous through its former owner: Joséphine Baker. In the afternoon we will ride along the river Dordogne, we will pass by the castle of Castelnaud (13th century) and we will get to Domme by 7:00pm. Visit of the bastide, meal and night at the hotel.  

Day 7: Breakfast at 8:00am, departure on horseback at 10:00am. Riding along the Dordogne we will pass through La Roque Gageac, former fishing port and secondary residence of the bishops of Sarlat. We will get to the end of our trip by 2:00pm. The meal will be taken at the Vitrac ranch. In the afternoon, transfer in minibus to the hotel in Sarlat. The rest of the day will be spent visiting the city and doing some shopping.

Day 8: Transfer to the Sarlat train station after breakfast.
